Here’s a transcription of the video:
Hi everyone. Kym Dowling here and welcome to our project at Semaphore.
This is stage 1 of this build.
The owners have contracted us to do rear additions and internal alterations. The problem with the rear addition was, as a process of demolishing the rear of the property, they’d be losing all their wet areas.
So our idea was to do this internal en suite, which was a conversion of an existing kitchen area and create the en suite and dressing room area; doing this part of the project as a Stage 1.
What that does, is it gives the owners the opportunity to keep a bathroom area while we then start on the demolishing and building of the rear addition at the back.
So, as you can see, it’s a beautiful en suite — we’re just at the finishing stages now — a bit of sealing round the top and a couple of very minor cleaning up items to attend to.
This bathroom has a beautiful porcelain floor and this floor also has underfloor heating built in, which is a real luxury, and a heated towel rail here. We’ve got a very funky looking vanity unit that’s very trendy, with some polished stainless steel brackets — a very current look that people are after. Also this enormous 2 metre square mirror which certainly makes the room feel much bigger — it’s already a big room, but it certainly looks a lot bigger with this mirror in place.
This was the original kitchen. This area, believe it or not, was the original butler’s pantry, and we’ve converted that into a huge shower with a strip drain down the bottom and a lovely rain head up the top there.
So this is the extent — we’ve also got a niche in the wall, that we’ve built into the wall there which is great for the shampoos and conditioners and so forth.
So that’s the progress on our project at the moment — the owners can now use this room freely, and we’ll keep you up to speed with the rest of the project as it develops.
I’m Kym Dowling from Dowling Homes.
Bye for now
