Old and new are interwoven in this stunning Semaphore villa by the sea. The renovations and extension have been dramatic, and they show precisely what you can achieve when you bring together your big dreams with the right designer and builder.

A skillion roof and grey porcelain tiled floors created the canvas for the 160 square-metre addition, which is filled with an enormous kitchen, wet room, home theatre, master bathroom and huge laundry with plenty of storage. Of course, no modern Australian home is complete without an al fresco area, and this villa has one so fabulous it will take your breath away.

With arresting good looks, this open and spacious kitchen forms a natural hub in the home. Originally confined to a tight space, the kitchen was given room to flourish in an enormous open plan design. Ample bench space is provided in the form of a luxuriously long island topped with stone benchtops. Gloss vinyl fronts together with plenty of overhead and under-bench storage ensure the kitchen remains clutter-free. Two ovens, a coffee maker and steamer are just some of the appointments that make this kitchen the envy of any entertainer. Pendant lighting is an elegant touch to the island bench, creating an inviting space where the hosts can relax with friends over a glass of bubbles.

We kept a video diary throughout this project so you can visualise the huge potential of your home, and how we can unleash it. Even if your home is tired and out of date – great design, quality building and great vision means you too can enjoy your dream home. Our first video sets the scene for the dramatic transformation and tells the story of how the project began.

Wondering what happened next? Our next video takes you on a journey through all the parts of the villa that were removed to reveal a blank canvas for the exciting new addition. Take a look…

By removing the rear of the house, we removed the wet areas of the home. This opened up the exciting opportunity to build a brand new wet room for the villa exactly how the owners desired. The tired old kitchen was transformed into a sumptuous en suite and dressing room. Every design element was chosen to create the sensation of true bathroom luxury – from the sleek porcelain floor with underfloor heating and the heated towel rail to the huge walk-in shower. The vanity unit creates a striking focal point and a mirror spanning two metres in length visually expands the already generous space.

With stage one of the build complete, our next video reveals the next transformation of this stunning 1900’s villa. Take a look around the space that will house the kitchen, dining and living area plus theatre room and let your imagination run wild…

Ready to explore the finished design? Our final video takes you on a step-by-step tour of the home, inside and out, so you can see for yourself how every element works. From the laundry to the home theatre, this home is full of inspiration for your own renovation project. What are you waiting for?

This wonderful home is full of clever design and detailing that proves you don’t need to have daring and extravagant ideas to make a room special. This master bathroom is one such example. A seamless walk-in shower, stone bath and clean white tones are the simple ingredients that make up this perfectly formed space.

On the Esplanade with sea views, this villa was always meant to be extraordinary. Now, with a stunning rear addition, clever renovations and sensitive design flourishes, it is finally fulfilling its true potential.
